Kyleigh Sand Joins AUSL's Chicago Bandits

CHICAGO – Former Scarlet Knight shortstop Kyleigh Sand is among the 11 reserve pool players filling in for Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) athletes completing their overseas commitments during the start of the 2026 season.
Sand will be joining the Chicago Bandits, who begin their schedule on June 9 in Salt Lake City, Utah, against the Talons.
The Reserve Pool is available for teams to fill roster gaps when needed, whether due to injuries or other absences. Reserve Pool athletes can be called up, compete, and earn full-time roster spots. Eleven athletes have been called up out of the reserve pool to start the season.
Sand made her mark "On The Banks" as RU's first three-time all-region selection and the school record holder in both season and career runs scored and career batting average. A two-time First Team All-Big Ten honoree, she led the Scarlet Knight offense as a senior batting .418 with 77 hits, nine doubles and four triples, along with plating a school record 62 runs. Sand concluded her career ranked third in career hits (216) and stolen bases (63), fifth in career walks (86), eighth in career triples (8) and tenth in career doubles (34) at Rutgers.
