Scarlet Knights Set for USA Swimming Summer Speedo Sectionals

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers swimming and diving will have eight swimmers competing at an event this week in Columbus, Ohio – the 2026 USA Swimming Summer Speedo Sectionals. Hosted at Ohio State University at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion, six current Scarlet Knights and two incomers are set to compete in the event, which takes place from Thursday to Sunday.
Each day will have morning prelims and evening finals. A live stream will be available on Youtube. Results will be posted online.
Isabella Valle will compete in three events, the 400, 800 and 1500 Freestyle. Valle, a Williamstown, N.J. native, recently completed her sophomore season 'On the Banks'.
Ellie Schinsky will compete in three events, the 50, 100 and 200 Butterfly. A native of Windham, Maine, Schinsky is set to return to Rutgers for her fifth season, where she will be a team captain for the second straight campaign.
Ana Hazlehurst will compete in five events, the 50, 100 and 200 Butterfly and the 200 and 400 IM. Hailing from Lutherville Timonium, Md., Hazlehurst had a breakthrough debut for RU last season, with two top-three times in school history, and will be a team captain next season.
Casey Zentz will compete in three events, the 50, 100 and 200 Freestyle. A native of Reisterstown, Md., Zentz enters her sophomore season as a Scarlet Knight freestyler.
Brooke Thompson will compete in three events, the 50, 100 and 200 Freestyle. A rising senior, Thompson was a team captain last season and won six medals (two gold, four bronze) at the Deaflympics.
Ava Jurkiewicz will compete in two events, the 50 and 100 Breaststroke. The Northville, Mich. native is entering her junior season at RU.
Two soon-to-be Scarlet Knights will compete in the event prior to arriving on campus for their freshman seasons. Alexis Mesina will compete in four events, the 50, 100 and 200 Breaststroke and the 200 IM. She comes to RU from Cypress, Texas. Mia Boccio will compete in six events, the 50 and 100 Butterfly, the 50 and 100 Backstroke and the 50 and 100 Freestyle. She is a native of Galena, Ohio.
