Wrestling Adds Lehigh to 2026-27 Home Schedule

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers wrestling continues to add to its impressive 2026-27 schedule, announcing a home match with Lehigh for Sunday, Nov. 15 at Jersey Mike's Arena. The Scarlet Knights are set to face the Mountain Hawks for the first time since the 2017 season. It marks the return of one of the longest-running series in program history, featuring 46 all-time matchups between the two schools dating back to 1940.
The addition of Lehigh continues to bolster an already loaded home slate, as RU will also host No. 1 Penn State, No. 7 Iowa, Indiana and Northwestern this season. Information on the rest of the 2026-27 schedule will be released later.

RU's schedule continues to be finalized. It was announced in May that Rutgers was selected to compete in the prestigious National Duals Invitational Dec. 12-13, 2026 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The Scarlet Knights finished No. 11 in the final NWCA Coaches Poll for the second consecutive year in 2025-26. RU closed the regular season on a six-match winning streak, which included the program's first-ever win over then-No. 6 Minnesota to help Rutgers to its best regular season Big Ten finish. Under head coach Scott Goodale, Rutgers secured nine NCAA qualifiers, its most since 2016.
NCAA qualifiers Andrew Barbosa (165), Shane Cartagena-Walsh (184) and Remy Cotton (197) are all set to return to the lineup next season, while NCAA qualifiers Daniel Herrera (Iowa State) and Brett Ungar (Cornell) are set to join the program in the fall.
The Scarlet Knights also welcome a loaded rookie class, which includes four-time NJSIAA state champion and 2026 World Team Trials runner-up Anthony Knox and U23 Freestyle Nationals runner-up Brandt Harer.
