Florence Robitaille Makes Three Finals at Junior Pan Pacific Championships

VANCOUVER, Canada – Rutgers swimming incoming freshman Florence Robitaille competed this week at the 2026 Junior Pan Pacific Championships. Robitaille was one of 40 athletes in her age group selected to represent Canada in the 11th edition of the international junior competition across four days of racing at the UBC Aquatic Centre.
Robitaille competed in four events across the competition from Monday through Thursday. She made three finals appearances, appearing in one A Final and two B Finals. Her top performance came on Wednesday in the 200 Backstroke, as she was the fastest Canadian swimmer in the event. Robitaille qualified for the A Final, where she finished sixth overall with a time of 2:15.45.
Robitaille also made B Finals in the 100 Backstroke (placing fourth in that final with a 1:03.43) and the 50 Backstroke (coming in sixth in that final with a time of 30.32). She concluded the event with a swim of the 200 IM on Thursday.
A member of the Canadian National Team, Robitaille is a four-star and top-100 recruit entering Rutgers. She was a Junior bronze medalist at the Canadian trials in 2025, Bronze medalist at the O|I in 2024 and Silver medalist at the Canadian championships in 2024. A backstroker, she set the Quebec provincial age group record at age 16 in the 200M Backstroke.
"Flo will arrive at RU with the maturity and edge that come from competing with Team Canada, pairing elite international experience with a résumé of high-level achievements in the pool and the classroom," said Rutgers head coach Jon Maccoll upon the announcement of her signing. "She trains with an Olympic mindset every day, and we believe she has the talent, discipline, and ambition to make an impact not only in college swimming, but ultimately on the world's biggest stage."
