Hannah Heideveld To Compete At Senior World Rowing Championships

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Former Scarlet Knight Hannah Heideveld will be competing at her second Senior World Rowing Championships in her native Netherlands on August 24-30 for the host country and defending world champion women's 8+.
Heideveld, who holds dual citizenship with the Netherlands and the United States, rowed with Team USA's women's 8+ in Shanghai, China, at last year's Senior World Championships, placing fifth. She is also a two-time gold medalist with the United States' women's 8+ at the World Rowing U23 Championships and also competed at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials.
A 2025 graduate of Rutgers, Heideveld is one of the program's most decorated Scarlet Knights. A three-time CRCA All-American, she earned first team honors in 2025, second team accolades in 2022 and honorable mention status in 2023. Additionally, she was a three-time All-Big Ten First Team honoree and the 2021 Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
During RU's historic 2025 season, Heideveld helped Rutgers' Varsity 8 to a runner-up performance in the petite final to take eighth place overall at the NCAA Championships and cross as a runner-up to take silver at the Big Ten Championships.
Previously, Heideveld contributed to the Scarlet Knights' Varsity 8 14th-place finish, which led to RU's 15th-place team finish at the 2023 NCAA Championships, was a member of the Varsity 8 that won the C finals at the 2022 NCAA Championships and rowed with the Varsity 8 that finished fifth at the 2021 NCAA Championships.
Rutgers has trained and developed numerous Scarlet Knights who have participated on national teams. Scarlet Knights have earned six medals at the Senior World Championships, including gold in the women's 8+ by Jennifer Dore-Terhaar in 1995 and Maite Urtasun in 2002 for the United States. Additionally, at least one Scarlet Knight has earned a medal at every U23 World Championships since 2018, including Femke de Witt with bronze for the Netherlands ' mixed eight and Louise Dinard with bronze for France's pairs in 2026.
