Women's Golf Concludes Day One of Boilermaker Classic

With 18 holes left, the Scarlet Knights are eighth out of 16 teams with a 25-over-par 601 (298-303). Miami (Fla.) leads the field with an even 576 (282-294), followed by Ole Miss (+3) and North Florida (+14). Miami's Barbora Bujáková and North Florida's Kaitlyn Schroeder are atop the individual leaderboard with four-under-par 140s.
Truong fired off a one-under-par 71 to highlight Monday action for the Scarlet Knights. Grace Lu is tied for fourth in par-5 scoring with a 4.75 average, while junior Judy Amano leads the team and is tied for fifth overall with 26 pars across her two rounds.
"We had some good play going in the morning before the winds picked up in the afternoon," said head coach Kari Williams. "This is a challenging course and set up, but a great test for us. Our game management could be better tomorrow and we'll look to tighten up our focus for the final 18."

ROUND 1 - MONDAY, AUGUST 31
Weather: Sunny, temps in the high 80s, 5-15 mph winds
Truong opened the tournament with a blistering four birdies in her first six holes, which included back-to-back under-par performances on holes 14 and 15. Truong added a birdie on the fifth hole to finish with a one-under-par 71 in the first round and within the top 10 of the leaderboard.
Lu also enjoyed a strong opening round, contributing an even 72 in her first 18 holes of play. Lu rolled in birdies on 6, 7, 10, and 12 to highlight action in the morning session.
ROUND 2 - MONDAY, AUGUST 31
Weather: Sunny, temps in the high 80s, 10-15 mph winds
Senior Emily James was the biggest mover for Rutgers in the afternoon, jumping up 34 spots to sit tied for 32nd through 36 holes. James finished the second round with an even 72, adding birdies on holes 14, 16, and 17.
Lu wrapped up her day with a four-over-par 76, while Truong added a six-over-par 78 to move within the top 30.
