Hannah Heideveld Takes Fourth With Amsterdam Senior World Rowing Championships

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands - Former Scarlet Knight Hannah Heideveld finished fourth with the Netherlands' women's 8+, rowing in the four seat, at the 2026 Senior World Rowing Championships.
Heideveld and her Dutch teammates advanced to the A final after taking third in Saturday's heats behind the USA and Romania.
In Sunday's final, Heideveld and the Netherlands' women's 8+ were 1.26 seconds behind the bronze medal USA boat and 2.26 seconds behind runner-up Great Britain.
Heideveld was making her second World Senior World Championship appearance and her first for her native Netherlands. The Scarlet Knight All-American, who holds dual citizenship with the Netherlands and the United States, rowed took fifth with Team USA's women's 8+ in Shanghai, China, at the 2025 Senior World Championships.
A 2025 graduate of Rutgers, Heideveld is one of the program's most decorated Scarlet Knights. A three-time CRCA All-American, she earned first team honors in 2025, second team accolades in 2022 and honorable mention status in 2023. Additionally, she was a three-time All-Big Ten First Team honoree and the 2021 Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
During RU's historic 2025 season, Heideveld helped Rutgers' Varsity 8 to a runner-up performance in the petite final to take eighth place overall at the NCAA Championships and cross as a runner-up to take silver at the Big Ten Championships.
Previously, Heideveld contributed to the Scarlet Knights' Varsity 8 14th-place finish, which led to RU's 15th-place team finish at the 2023 NCAA Championships, was a member of the Varsity 8 that won the C finals at the 2022 NCAA Championships and rowed with the Varsity 8 that were runner-up at the 2021 Big Ten Championships and finished fifth at the 2021 NCAA Championships.
Heideveld was also a two-time gold medalist with the United States' women's 8+ at the World Rowing U23 Championships and also competed at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials.
