Wrestling Releases Full 2026-27 Schedule

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers wrestling has finalized its 2026-27 schedule. The Scarlet Knights will compete eight times at Jersey Mike's Arena this season, including four Big Ten Conference duals and four additional non-conference dates.
Season tickets are now available. All times for home and away matches will be announced at a later date.

RU finished No. 11 in the final NWCA Coaches Poll for the second consecutive year in 2025-26. Rutgers closed the regular season on a six-match winning streak, which included the program's first-ever win over then-No. 6 Minnesota to help the Scarlet Knights secure their best regular-season Big Ten finish. Under head coach Scott Goodale, Rutgers produced nine NCAA qualifiers, its most since 2016.
NCAA qualifiers Andrew Barbosa (165), Shane Cartagena-Walsh (184), and Remy Cotton (197) are all set to return to the lineup, while NCAA qualifiers Daniel Herrera (Iowa State) and Brett Ungar (Cornell) also join the team in 2026-27.
The Scarlet Knights also welcome a loaded recruiting class, featuring four-time NJSIAA state champion and 2026 World Team Trials runner-up Anthony Knox alongside U23 Freestyle Nationals runner-up Brandt Harer.
November
Rutgers opens its season on Saturday, Nov. 7, with neutral-site matchups against LIU (2 p.m.) and Navy (4 p.m.) in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, as part of Journeymen's WrangleMania event. The Scarlet Knights host the Mountain Hawks on Sunday, Nov. 15, at Jersey Mike's Arena before closing the month at the Keystone Classic on Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Palestra in Philadelphia.
December
RU returns to the City of Brotherly Love on Friday, Dec. 4, against Drexel. Rutgers then heads west to compete in the prestigious National Duals Invitational from Dec. 12-13 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The National Duals Invitational is a premier collegiate wrestling event featuring 16 of the top NCAA Division I teams competing for a total purse of more than $1 million. The invitational offers substantial payouts to participating programs, including $250,000 to the championship team.
January
The heart of the dual season begins on Thursday, Jan. 7, with Rider at Jersey Mike's Arena. Rutgers then hosts Penn State on Saturday, Jan. 9 before its first Big Ten road match of the season on Friday, Jan. 15, at Nebraska. The Scarlet Knights close that weekend with a home match against Indiana on Sunday, Jan. 17.
Back-to-back Big Ten road matches follow, as RU wrestles at Wisconsin (Jan. 22) and Minnesota (Jan. 24). The month ends with an out-of-conference home match against American on Saturday, Jan. 30.
February
A Big Ten home weekend opens February, as Rutgers hosts Northwestern on Friday, Feb. 5, and Iowa on Sunday, Feb. 7. The Scarlet Knights trek to College Park to face Maryland on Friday, Feb. 12, before renewing their in-state rivalry with Princeton on Sunday, Feb. 14, at Jadwin Gymnasium. RU closes the regular season with a non-conference dual against Hofstra on Tuesday, Feb. 16, in Piscataway.

The Big Ten Conference announced that Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, will serve as the host site for the 2027 Big Ten Wrestling Championships from March 6-7. The NCAA Wrestling Championships take place March 18-20 in St. Louis.
