Why Rutgers?
"Rutgers is recognized nationally for its academics and athletics, the two most important factors I considered when deciding on my post-secondary path. I believe that Rutgers will help me pursue my goals and dreams in gymnastics and academics, allowing me to grow in both areas over my next four years “On the Banks.” I genuinely feel that Coach Umme Salim-Beasley and her team recruited me for who I am and not just for what I have accomplished in gymnastics. As the only elite gymnast currently at my club, I’m looking forward to training and competing with a group of athletes who have the same goals as I do. At Rutgers, I could see that everyone had similar values and aspirations. When I first met the team, I saw athletes who support, encourage and push each other, not just in gymnastics but in all aspects of life. From meeting with the team, I knew that I would fit in perfectly with the Scarlet Knights. They are such a hard-working, fun and inspiring group of people. I’m so excited and honoured to join the Rutgers family."
