Career Honors: 2016 NCAA Championships qualifier … 2016 Big Ten Championships placewinner, finishing fifth … 2015 Midlands Championships placewinner (fourth).

2016-17 (As a senior): Was injured early in the season and sidelined the remainder of the year … bested Princeton’s Joe Tavoso by a 17-6 major decision wrestling up at 165 pounds in the “Battle at the Birthplace” at High Point Solutions Stadium (Nov. 19) … defeated No. 11-ranked Joey Lavallee (Missouri), 2-0, in an exhibition showcase at the 51st Annual All-Star Classic in Cleveland (Nov. 5).

2015-16 (As a junior):
Notched a 27-7 overall mark and 16-1 dual record in his first season at Rutgers … went 1-2 at his first NCAA Championships (March 17-19) … automatic NCAA Championships qualifier … topped Ohio State’s Jake Ryan, 5-2, to secure fifth place at the Big Ten Championships (March 5-6) … beat Doug Welch, 4-2, with a third period takedown, helping RU to a win over No. 23 Purdue (Feb. 14) … scored a takedown with eight seconds remaining to beat No. 9 Brian Murphy ( Michigan) at the RAC (Feb. 7) … topped NCAA qualifier Adam Krop (Princeton), 7-4, in RU’s 28-6 dual win over the Tigers (Jan. 31) … took fourth at the 53rd Annual Ken Kraft Midlands Championships (Dec. 29-30) … defeated No. 16 Edwin Cooper Jr. (Iowa) and No. 18 Tyler Berger (Nebraska) in the tournament … dropped No. 10 Tyler Berger (Nebraska), 10-3, for his first win over a ranked opponent (Dec. 12) … entered the national rankings for the first time, earning the No. 17 spot at 157 pounds according to Intermat on Dec. 8 after a 7-0 start to the season … extended his unbeaten start to the season with two major decisions in Corvallis, Ore., against Oregon State and Utah Valley (Nov. 21) … went 3-0 at the Journeymen/Asics Northeast Duals with a two decisions and a major (Nov. 15) … made his Rutgers debut with a 2-0 day at the Rutgers Duals, scoring a fall and a decision (Nov. 1).


Prior to Rutgers: A two-time National Junior College Athletic Association All-American, finishing second and third in two tournament trips while at Iowa Central ...  four-year letterwinner and captain at Toms River HS East … compiled a 121-22 record in his career, placing at the NJSIAA Championships three times … finished third at 138 pounds in 2013, fifth at 132 pounds in 2012, and seventh at 119 pounds in 2011 at the state tournament … two-time NHSCA All-American … a three-time All-Shore Conference selection.

Personal: Son of Joseph and Maria … has one brother, Michael … intends to major in psychology … his father, Joseph, was a legendary New Jersey high school basketball coach at Cardinal McCarrick for 17 years, leading the program to 310 wins, 11 Greater Middlesex Conference division titles, two Greater Middlesex Tournament titles and three NJSIAA Non-Public, South B championships.
