2022 (Sophomore): Competed in 12 meets for Rutgers...contributed to the highest program score at a Big Ten Championship, competing all-around and adding a career-high 9.800 on vault (3/19)...posted a career high of 9.825 on floor, helping the team to a program-record total of 196.400 (3/11)...recorded a career high of 9.900 on beam, becoming the fifth gymnast recorded in RU history to eclipse 9.9 in the event...finished second on beam, second on vault (9.800) and second in the all-around (38.650) in the home quad meet (3/4)...finished second in the all-around with a career-high 39.100 and second on beam with a 9.850 at No. 20 Illinois (2/25)...finished fourth in the all-around with a career-high 38.975, guiding RU to its highest team total at a Big Five Meet (2/19)...placed third in the all-around with a 38.875 in the home quad meet with No. 17 Iowa, Ursinus and Kent State, matching her career high of 9.800 on floor (2/11)...competed all-around in home tri meet (2/4)...scored a 9.800 on beam against No. 22 Ohio State (1/30)...posted a career high of 9.775 on bars at Kent State (1/28)...scored a 9.750 on bars in win over Maryland (1/22)...finished third and scored career high on beam with 9.875 in quad meet (1/15).Â
2021 (Freshman):Â Competed in 10 meets for the Scarlet Knights, including six as an all-around competitor...matched her career high with a 9.800 on vault at the Big Ten Championships (3/20)...set a new career high on bars with a 9.750 at Maryland (3/3)...competed all-around at the Big Five Meet (2/27)...registered career highs on vault (9.800) and bars (9.725) to help boost a program-record road score for RU away at Minnesota (2/20)...(posted career-best marks on beam (9.800) and on floor (9.800) in dual meet with Ohio State (2/14)...competed in all-around in the dual meet with Maryland (1/30)...made her collegiate debut competing all-around in the tri-meet with Illinois and Maryland, leading RU on vault (9.700).
Prior to Rutgers: Four-time Level 10 Florida State and Regional Qualifier…a 2016 Level 9 Eastern Nationals, Regionals and State Qualifier…has registered 13 event wins from 2016-2020, winning beam title twice in 2020…claimed All-American Beam Award at the Jekyll Island Invitational…member of TCA Senior Women…member of the National Honor Society and Athletes in Action…a 2017 Delegate at the Young Leader Conference…honored on the President’s List 2016-19.
Personal: Daughter of Josiane and Thomas Newman…has a brother, Isaac…studying towards a career as a pediatrician.
