The Rutgers University Spirit Program provides leadership and entertainment for the 60,000 fans who fill Rutgers SHI Stadium throughout football season and the 8,000 fans who pack Jersey Mike's Arena for men's and women's basketball. While their primary purpose is to support football and basketball, the men and women in the Spirit Program also serve as ambassadors for the University, providing Scarlet Knight spirit not only for a number of Rutgers athletic and community endeavors, but at various public relations and outreach events throughout the state and across the nation. We pride ourselves on being part of the rich history and traditions of both the country's eighth oldest university and the prestigious Big Ten Conference. Under the supervision of Christine Zoffinger and the Rutgers University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, the Spirit Program includes the cheer team, the dance team, and Sir Henry, the Scarlet Knight. Throughout the year, they can be seen at all home football games, men's and women's basketball games, various sporting events at Rutgers, UCA/UDA camp in the summer, postseason bowl games and men's and women's basketball tournaments, and the UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship. These athletes are all full-time students at Rutgers University, one of the nation's premiere public research institutions and a proud member of the Big Ten Conference. |
