Ken Pennini

Ken Pennini joined the Rutgers Athletics as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach in October 2022. He is responsible for the  development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for baseball and men’s golf.

Pennini arrived at Rutgers after seven years at Bryant University where he held positions of Associate Head Strength Coach and Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. He worked with athletes on multiple varsity teams, including baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s tennis, volleyball, field hockey, golf and football.

He created programming for teams based on individual needs, data collection and analysis and worked to apply results of analysis to set and reach both team and individual goals. During his tenure at Bryant, men’s lacrosse won two NEC Tournament championships, baseball won seven NEC regular season titles and men’s tennis won five NEC Conference championships.

Prior to Bryant, Pennini worked as a Strength and Conditioning intern at Appalachian State in Boone, NC. He worked extensively with the football team. Pennini is a native of Millis, Mass. He earned a B.S. in Exercise Science and Health Fitness from Bridgewater State University where he also pitched for the baseball team. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), holds a USA Weightlifting Level 1 certification and is also CPR/AED and First Aid certified.
