    Assistant Director of Sports Nutrition/Head of Football Nutrition
Dr. Patrick Davitt is the head of nutrition for Rutgers football. He was previously with the Scarlet Knights for the 2008-2011 seasons. He handles daily oversight of the Hale Center fueling stations, coordinating dining/meal planning, all travel and game day meal and snack preparation, as well as body composition assessment and analysis. He collaborates with all football personnel and manages nutrition education for all players, coaches and staff.

A native of Springfield, Pennsylvania, Dr. Davitt earned his doctorate at Rutgers University in Nutritional Biochemistry and Physiology. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist and a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. Dr. Davitt specializes in all things sports nutrition, exercise and health, with a concentration in energy metabolism and has over 15 years' experience studying and consulting on sports nutrition and energy expenditure in various populations, from sedentary overweight individuals to elite athletes and the military.  

Dr. Davitt is the director of Exercise Physiology and the director of the human performance laboratory at University of the Sciences, in Philadelphia. He has been a professor and researcher for over seven years. 

Dr. Davitt has been featured as a content expert in online blogs for Runners WorldPhiladelphia InquirerNational Geographic and Outside Magazine, as well as Men’s Running Magazine. He also has publications in Metabolism, Journal of Applied Physiology and the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research.  

Patrick and his wife, Edyta, have two daughters, Charlotte and Rose.
