Mike Kuzniak returned to Rutgers in 2020 as the program’s Director of Behavioral Science and Team Services, where he oversees the Scarlet Knights’ equipment room. Kuzniak enjoyed a 13-year tenure “On the Banks” from 2004-16, which included a nine-year stint as RU’s Director of Player Services.

Kuzniak, a BCBA (Board Certified Behavioral Analyst), spent four years as an ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) consultant working with children, adolescents, adults and their families throughout the state of New Jersey. He also utilizes the science of ABA to help athletes develop the ability to do the right thing in the right way in varied situations.

Kuzniak started as a student manager in the equipment room in 2004 and took charge of management of junior football managers. He also assisted with the shipping and receiving, handling and maintenance of athletic equipment, while creating an inventory database for indoor/outdoor equipment and apparel.

A two-time graduate of Rutgers, Kuzniak earned his Bachelor of Arts in 2006 and Master’s of Education in 2008. Prior to arriving on campus, Kuzniak served in the United States Marine Corps, with stops in Parris Island, South Carolina, Camp Pendleton, California, Little Creek, Virginia, and Okinawa, Japan.

Kuzniak and his wife, Jamie, are the parents of two sons, Owen and Everett.
