Kaitlin Dewey is in her first season as an assistant coach for the Rutgers gymnastics program after being hired in the summer of 2017. A native of Saratoga, New York, Dewey brings coaching experience from all over the nation to the Scarlet Knights.
 
“I am really excited to add Kaitlin to the staff,” head coach Levine said upon the hire. “Over the last four years she has gained invaluable experience at one of the top clubs in the country, under the tutelage of Kim Zmeskal-Burdette and Chris Burdette. That knowledge, combined with Kaitlin's passion for the sport, is going to be an excellent addition to our Rutgers gymnastics family.”

Dewey arrives in Piscataway after working at Texas Dreams Gymnastics in Coppell, Texas, since Sept. 2013. During her four seasons there she had five gymnasts qualify for the National Team. She coached and developed numerous athletes who qualified for JO Nationals, the Nastia Liukin Cup and went on to earn Division I scholarships, focusing on balance beam, floor exercise and choreography for all levels. At the 2016 JO Nationals, her gymnasts hit all 36 routines. In addition, Dewey organized strength and conditioning workouts for the program.
 
Before that, Dewey served as the girls head gymnastics coach at World Class Gymnastics Academy in Latham, New York, from May 2010 to Sept. 2013. She guided three gymnasts to Division I scholarships during that time, concentrating on balance beam and floor exercise. Dewey also has experience coaching gymnastics camps at UCLA, Utah and Maryland.
 
Dewey started her coaching career at her alma mater, Brockport, during the 2008 season. She assisted leading the team to first place in the Eastern College Athletic Conference and second place at the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association Championships.
 
An accomplished student-athlete at Brockport, Dewey was a two-time NCAA Division III Gymnastics First Team All-America selection (2009-10). Additionally, she earned the athletic department’s Most Outstanding Athlete Award and National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Championship Senior Athlete of the Year honors in 2010-11.
 
Dewey graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education with a teacher certification in 2011.
