Marina Muncan

Eleven-time All-American and 2012 London Olympian Marina Muncan begins her third season as an assistant coach with the Rutgers women's cross country and track & field teams.

In her first season with the Rutgers women's cross country program in 2015, the Scarlet Knights repeated as Metropolitan Champions as Paige Senatore won the individual title for the second straight season. Additionally, two Scarlet Knights - Senatore and Allyson Black - brought home All-Regional honors for placing among the top 25 at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional.

Muncan arrived "On The Banks" after two seasons at the College of New Jersey, where she helped to coach 10 individual NJAC Conference Champions and over 25 ECAC qualifiers. During her two seasons, the Lions captured the 2014 NJAC women's outdoor championship, the 2013 and 2014 NJAC men's and women's cross country conference titles and the women's cross country team qualified for the 2013 NCAA Division III championships. Individually, TCNJ won the 2014 and 2015 ECAC women's indoor distance medley relay and had an 800m qualifier to the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Muncan joined the TCNJ staff from Richard Stockton College, where she was the women's cross country head coach and assistant track and field coach.

Beginning her coaching career with Dinamo Club in Pancevo, Serbia, Muncan served as the assistant distance coach. During her time with the club, she coached the former Serbian women's national steeplechase champion.

Muncan has extensive international competition experience, culminating with the 2012 Olympics held in London as a member of the Serbian Olympic Team. A World University champion in the 1500m in 2009, she was also a finalist in the event at the 2012 European Outdoor Championship and the 2007 and 2009 European Indoor Track & Field Championships. Muncan also represented Serbia at the 2007 and 2009 European Indoor Track and Field Championships. During her career, she set the Serbian national record in both the 1500m (4:06.45) and mile (4:31.16).

A 2006 graduate of Villanova University with a BA in Italian and minor in Russian, Muncan was an 11-time All-American and individual Big East Champion. As a senior, Muncan was the NCAA runner-up in the 1500m and member of the first place Championship of America distance medley relay team at Penn Relays. Muncan was also a member of the Big East Academic All-Star Team from 2003 through 2006.
