Andrew Kappers currently serves as the Senior Associate Athletic Director of Compliance. A member of Rutgers Athletics since August 2017, Kappers previously served as Associate Athletic Director, Assistant Athletic Director, and Director of Compliance. Along with his compliance responsibilities for the Scarlet Knights wrestling program, Kappers also serves as the sports administrator for the women's basketball team.
Prior to his arrival "On the Banks", Kappers worked at the University of South Florida from 2015-17, where he served as the Assistant Director of Compliance. There, he assessed and monitored recruiting activities, playing and practices seasons and assisted with rules education for 19 sports.
Prior to his time with the University of South Florida, Kappers spent time at the American Athletic Conference and the University of Minnesota. With the American Athletic Conference, Kappers administered the conference's NLI Program, created rules education materials and supported the membership.
Kappers graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a degree in Business Marketing. He was a four-year letterwinner in ice hockey, serving as team captain and SAAC representative while being twice named All-Conference and team MVP. Kappers also received his law degree from the University of St. Thomas, working there as an assistant hockey coach for three years.
