Margaret Dail

Margaret Dail begins her first season as an assistant coach with the Rutgers women's rowing program after spending the last two seasons at George Washington and following a standout career at the University of Texas.

As a member of the Revolutionaries staff in 2025, Dail was the lead coach of the Varsity 4 and 2nd Varsity 4 that included a program-best second-place finish at the Atlantic 10 Championships.

Prior to joining the George Washington staff, Dail was a volunteer coach for her alma mater as Texas finished fourth at the NCAA Championships in 2023 and earned CRCA Regional and Big 12 Staff of the Year honors. 

Dail began her coaching career coaching both Juniors and Masters with the Austin Rowing Club. While with the program, a program-best five boats qualified for the 2022 Youth National Championship.

Also at the club level, Dail was an assistant coach with the junior men at Penn AC Gold in summer 2025, capturing five top-two finishes at the Independence Day Regatta and eight top-two finishes at the USRowing RowFest National Championships.

As a student-athlete, Dail was a three-time NCAA Championship medalist and helped the Longhorns to four Big 12 Championships between 2015-19. As team captain, she was the 2019 national runner-up with the 2nd Varsity 8+.

A 2019 graduate of the University of Texas, Dail earned a bachelor’s degree in history and is currently working towards her Master’s in sport management at George Washington.
