As an alumna of Rutgers swimming and diving, Kara Battistoni is in her second season as the Director of Operations for the program.
Battistoni serves as an assistant coach of Scarlet Aquatics, a competitive swim team located in Woodbridge, where she implements practices and workouts for the young swimmers. The Providence, R.I. native has also coached various teams bordering her hometown, including Seekonk High School and the Seacoast Swimming Association.
As a coach, Battistoni put a strong focus in the strength and conditioning of her athletes. Her specific focuses include addressing imbalances in the body along with form and technique. Serving as a personal trainer at Apollon Gym, she conducts training programs and workouts for groups and individual clients.
While most of her time has been dedicated to coaching and training, Battistoni also boasts a background in digital production. Battistoni works with Hurricane Productions, producing original branding content for various websites and clients, as well as shooting and editing photo and video footage for a wide array of events. As an Entertainment and Video Production Intern with the New York Mets, she conceptualized and created media designated for all digital boards.
Battistoni earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Rutgers University in May of 2010. A Deanrs List graduate and five-year scholarship recipient of Rutgers swimming and diving, Battistoni contributed largely to the program during her time lOn the Banks.r
As a team captain of Seekonk High School in 2004, she was named thenBoston GlobenAll-Scholastic Winner and was name an All-American Nominee for the 100 breaststroke and the 200 individual medley. Battistoni was earned team MVP for her success that season. During her time as a Scarlet Knight, Battistoni continued her success in the pool. The two-time Big East Championship contender helped guide Rutgers swimming and diving to a ranking of 12th nationally in the 2006 season.
