CAREER SUMMARY
Erica Kesseh joined the Rutgers Athletics strength and conditioning staff in July 2023.Kesseh serves as the strength and conditioning coach for the Scarlet Knights volleyball and women's golf programs. In her role, she is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive training programs to maximize athletic performance, leading speed development initiatives, overseeing performance testing through sport technology, and monitoring student-athlete performance and recovery.
Prior to Rutgers, Kesseh spent three years with ETS Sports Performance in Minnesota, where she advanced to the role of assistant director. She developed individualized strength and nutrition programs for teams and athletes while collaborating with sport coaches, physical therapists and athletic trainers to enhance performance.
During her time at ETS Sports Performance, Kesseh trained more than 60 collegiate student-athletes competing at the NCAA Division I, II and III levels.
In addition to her responsibilities at ETS Sports Performance, Kesseh served as the head strength and conditioning coach at Lakeville North High School, overseeing the performance development of 11 varsity athletic programs.
Kesseh began her coaching career as a strength and conditioning intern at her alma mater, the University of Minnesota Duluth, while also serving as a coaching assistant at Burnsville Senior High School.
A former collegiate student-athlete, Kesseh was a six-time all-conference sprinter and hurdler for the Bulldogs track and field program and earned NCAA Division II provisional qualifying honors twice during her career.
Beyond athletics, Kesseh served as the president and co-founder of the NAACP University Chapter at the University of Minnesota Duluth.
Kesseh earned a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science from the University of Minnesota Duluth and a Master of Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
