Dr. Ann Gould has been a member of the Rutgers University faculty since 1990 and took over as NCAA faculty representative in 2024. The role includes representing Rutgers and its faculty in the institution's relationships with the athletic department, NCAA and Big Ten Conference.
In 2023, Dr. Gould was appointed Dean of Academic Programs for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. She previously spent three years as the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs providing leadership, coordination and support in the management of the University’s academic units. Additionally, she directed the accreditation reviews from the Middle States Commission as a liaison officer.
Dr. Gould joined Rutgers in 1990 and holds the title of Associate Extension Specialist in the Department of Plant Biology. Her area of scholarship focuses on applied research and extension programming in ornamental crop pathology, with an emphasis on the incidence and severity of bacterial leaf scorch in the New Jersey urban forest. She is an active advisor and teacher, serving as Undergraduate Program Director from 2016-20. She is known across Rutgers New Brunswick for her active participation in the University Senate, including serving as Chair from 2013-16.
Dr. Gould earned a PhD in plant pathology from the University of Kentucky, also completing master’s and bachelor's degrees from Illinois State University in biology.
