A former starting quarterback for the Scarlet Knights under Greg Schiano, Chas Dodd is in his third season as an assistant strength and conditioning coach with the football program. Dodd spent the previous two seasons as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Miami. 

Before Miami, Dodd worked at The University of South Carolina for three seasons (2016-2018). He served as a strength and conditioning graduate assistant during his time in Columbia. Dodd arrived at South Carolina after spending one year as an assistant football coach/strength and conditioning coach at Opelika High School in Alabama. 

A native of Lyman, South Carolina, Dodd played one year of professional football in the IFL (Italian Football League) in 2015 for the Lazio Marines. Dodd earned the league’s player of the year award after he led the league with 295.8 passing yards per game. 

Dodd enjoyed a four-year career at Rutgers from 2010-2013, where he helped the Scarlet Knights to three consecutive bowl games. Dodd finished his career “On the Banks” with 24 touchdown passes and more than 4,000 yards passing. An Academic All-Big East student-athlete, Dodd was named the conference offensive player of the week after he threw for 322 yards and two touchdowns in a come-from-behind win against UConn in his first career start. 

Dodd earned a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and his master’s degree from California University of Pennsylvania.
