Dr. Jill Kropa, MD, joined the Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics Sports Medicine Department in July 2016 as an assistant team physician.
Kropa provides patient care for Rutgers student-athletes at the Hale Center, participates in on-site coverage for the Scarlet Knights’ Olympic sports, and communicates with student-athletes and athletic trainers regarding healthy return to sports activities after injury and illness.
She received her M.D. from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 2012, and went on to an internship and residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in family medicine. She remained at Thomas Jefferson through the summer of 2016 to complete a fellowship in primary care sports medicine.
Kropa has been lauded for academic achievement throughout her career, including the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine Resident Teacher Award from Thomas Jefferson in 2015. In 2012, she was bestowed the Glasgow-Rubin Certificate of Commendation for Academic Achievement by the American Medical Women’s Association. At RWJ Medical School, she was inducted to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.
Kropa graduated summa cum laude from Villanova, where she was also a member of the Phi Beta Kappa national honor society.
