Dr. Priyank Desai, DO joined Rutgers Athletics in July 2025 as a sports medicine fellow. In his role, he works alongside team physicians to provide healthcare for student-athletes.
Dr. Desai was born in Jersey City and raised in North Brunswick, NJ. He attended Rutgers University-New Brunswick, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Cell Biology and Neuroscience and a minor in Psychology. He continued his education at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine, earning his master’s degree in biomedical sciences, followed by his Medical Doctorate.
Dr. Desai then traveled across the Hudson River for his Internal Medicine Residency at St. John’s Riverside Hospital in NY. His passion for sports led him to volunteer as a ringside physician at amateur boxing and MMA tournaments, further reinforcing his commitment to pursuing a career in Sports Medicine. In his personal life, Dr. Desai enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, staying current with TV shows and movies, being active at the gym, and supporting his favorite teams, the NY Jets and Miami Heat.
