Kelsey Nugent has served as the Assistant Director of Stewardship since joining the R Fund/Rutgers Athletic Development in February of 2024. In her role, she oversees the athletic scholarship program and leads strategic donor engagement initiatives that support student-athlete success.
Nugent manages scholarship reporting and develops meaningful stewardship opportunities designed to retain and grow philanthropic support. This includes executing stewardship efforts across athletics giving societies, such as the Scarlet Society and sport-specific travel funds.
Prior to joining Rutgers Athletics and the Rutgers University Foundation, she spent over four years with the Metro Athletic Athletic Conference (MAAC), most recently serving as Assistant Commissioner of Championships. Nugent directed championship operations across multiple sports, including events hosted at Disney World (golf and cross country), oversaw international team travel and accommodations for competition in Dublin, Ireland, and served as the travel liaison for the first and second rounds of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. She also pioneered the MAAC's first in-person esports championship and helped standardize conference-wide esports operations.
A native of Piscataway, Nugest was a Division I women's soccer student-athlete at Saint Peter's University in Jersey City, where she earned her degree in Sport Management with a minor in Marketing.
