Zivkovich came back “To The Banks” after spending 11 years in sports information at Old Dominion University, including the final two years as the Associate Director of Athletic Communications. She worked closely with the rising Monarch football team as Old Dominion restarted the program in 2009 after a 69-year absence.

With the Lady Monarch women's basketball team, she handled media relations for the 17-time Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) champions, which included runs to the "Sweet 16" in 2008 and "Elite Eight" in 2002. She also received awards for the 2002 field hockey media guide (Second in District), 2008 field hockey media guide (Sixth in Nation) and 2002 women's basketball poster (Best in District).
Prior to her post at Old Dominion, Zivkovich was the Sports Information Director at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, where she helped publicize and promote the Red Foxes' 23 varsity athletics programs. Joining the Red Fox staff in January of 2000, she helped host five Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) championships and was the primary media contact for the 2000 and 2001 NCAA bound men's tennis and baseball programs.
Beginning her career in sports information as an undergraduate assistant in the Office of Sports Media Relations at Rutgers, Zivkovich worked closely with the sports information staff with the women's basketball, men's lacrosse and field hockey programs and assisted in the media relations efforts of the school's then-27 other Division I programs. She was also responsible for updating one of the first versions of the Scarlet Knights’ athletic website.
During the summer of 1998, Zivkovich served as a Venue Management Staff Assistant at Madison Square Garden in New York City during the Summer Goodwill Games. At the international event, she assisted with the basketball, wrestling and boxing events and helped direct the venue communications center.
