Maggie Long serves as Vice President and Chief Development Officer, Athletics Development for Rutgers University. In this leadership role, she guides the philanthropic strategy that supports the Rutgers Athletics mission to provide an elite student-athlete experience and ensure long-term competitiveness within the Big Ten Conference.

Long will direct efforts to grow the Athletic Excellence Fund, a bold new initiative designed to provide direct financial support to Scarlet Knight student-athletes. Working in close collaboration with Rutgers’ Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) programs and scholarship initiatives, the Athletic Excellence Fund positions Rutgers to thrive in a transformed collegiate athletics landscape.

Prior to joining the Scarlet Knights in this role, Long served as the Executive Director of Corporate Partnerships and Annual Giving for the Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation, where she led corporate development initiatives and strategic fundraising campaigns across one of New Jersey’s largest healthcare systems.

Long is in her second stint with Rutgers Athletics after previously serving with the Athletic Development staff from 2012-20. As the Associate Athletic Director for Development, Long oversaw the R Fund and during her tenure, the unit experienced record-setting growth, doubling its donor base and annual operating support as Rutgers transitioned into the Big Ten.

A native of Ocean City, New Jersey, Long earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the College of William & Mary and a Master of Arts in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communications from Monmouth University.

Long and her partner JP reside in Asbury Park, New Jersey and are proud parents of Jack and Henry "Hank."
