Sarah Kotalic joined Rutgers Athletics in 2019 and currently serves as Assistant Athletic Director, Brand Advancement. She was promoted to the role in July 2021 after serving two years as Senior Video Producer.Â
In her role Kotalic is responsible for the creative video production across all RU Athletics departments and teams, including all major campaigns and initiatives. She produces The Scarlet Table Podcast featuring Athletic Director Keli Zinn and University President William F. Tate IV, hosted by the radio voice of Rutgers Football, Chris Carlin. She also produces the Knightlife series hosted by Emmy Award winning journalist, Bruce Beck. Under Kotalic's oversight, the creative video team produces the videos across all Athletics social media channels, YouTube, videoboards, athletic facilities, website and recruiting.
Prior to joining Rutgers, Kotalic spent two years working in the private sector with both M-1 Studios in Madison, where she contracted with St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center. She previously worked as a video/motion graphics producer with Nicholar Marketing and PR Firm in Morristown.
Kotalic previously worked in athletics at Virginia Tech where she was a graduate assistant with HokieVision, the athletic department's video production department. In Blacksburg, Kotalic operated the control room for video-board shows and helped stream events and press conferences on both HokieVision Live and ACC Network Extra. Kotalic also oversaw the video department's undergraduate internship program.
Kotalic earned her master’s degree in Instructional Design and Technology in 2016 and her bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Journalism in 2015 from Virginia Tech. Kotalic also freelanced with the Hokies’ athletic department, ESPN and the ACC Network during her time as an undergraduate student.
A South Jersey native, Kotalic resides in Somerville, New Jersey with her husband, Chris, daughter, Faye, and her German Shepherd mix rescue dog, Trixie. She is an avid Philadelphia sports fan and an animal welfare advocate.
