CAREER SUMMARY
Ty Timmerman joined Rutgers University as a Strength and Conditioning Coach in 2025, where he works directly with the Scarlet Knights lacrosse programs. He is responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive performance programs designed to enhance speed, power, strength, conditioning, and injury resilience while preparing student-athletes for the demands of Division I competition.
Prior to Rutgers, Timmerman served as an Assistant and eventually the Associate Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Mount St. Mary's University from 2021-25, where he directed the strength and conditioning programs for both men's and women's lacrosse in addition to baseball, men's soccer, golf, bowling, and dance. During his tenure, he utilized athlete-monitoring technologies and data-driven training strategies to optimize performance and manage athlete workload.
Before Mount St. Mary's, Timmerman served as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Ithaca College, where he designed and implemented training programs for baseball, softball, and rowing while assisting with football and wrestling. He began his full-time coaching career at Scotland Campus Sports and gained additional experience through internships with the football programs at the University of Georgia and University at Buffalo.
A specialist in athlete development, Timmerman's coaching focuses on speed development, power production, conditioning, workload management, and the application of sports science to improve athletic performance. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Health and Fitness Management from Alfred University in 2018 and a Master of Science in Sport Psychology from Ithaca College in 2022. He holds the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
