Will Aloia joined Rutgers Athletics in August 2026 and serves as Associate Athletic Director for Compliance. A Wyckoff, New Jersey, native with extensive experience in the region, Aloia works as the compliance administrator for the men's basketball, women's basketball, men's soccer and women's swimming & diving programs, while managing the Office of Athletic Compliance’s oversight of the Academic Support Services for Student-Athletes (ASSSA) staff to ensure compliance with all NCAA and Big Ten Conference legislation.
Additionally, Aloia manages and oversees RU’s comprehensive rules education program, which includes educational efforts towards all groups that fall under the purview of NCAA legislation (coaches, staff, student-athletes, part-time employees, etc.) and assists with the management of day-to-day operations within the Office of Athletic Compliance.
Aloia is an active member of the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC), participated in the inaugural NACDA Sport Administrator Leadership Institute, received the 2025 NAAC Emerging Leader Award and was selected to take part in the NACDA U Senior Administrator Mentoring Institute program for the 2026-27 calendar year.
Prior to arriving in Piscataway, Aloia spent nearly five years on the compliance staff at the University of Connecticut, most recently holding the title of Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance and Revenue Sharing Strategy. That included leading the compliance staff responsible for NCAA, conference and institutional compliance across 21 programs and helping the department implement House vs. NCAA requirements. Aloia worked directly with various sports with the Huskies, such as football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball and more.
Aloia started in collegiate athletics as a women’s basketball assistant coach at the University of New Haven before joining the compliance staff at The College of Saint Rose and later Manhattan University. He also brings experience in New Jersey following a stint as Associate Athletic Director, Compliance at Seton Hall University.
Aloia earned his bachelor's degree in coaching and administration from the University of Connecticut in 2012, later achieving a master’s degree from the University of New Haven and a graduate certificate from The College of Saint Rose. He is married to his wife, Lia.
