Lloyd, Brandao Earn All-BIG EAST Honors
Nov 07 | Women's Soccer
Lloyd was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team for the second consecutive year, while Brandao was named to the All-Rookie Team.
Lloyd, the 2002 Preseason BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year, leads the Scarlet Knights with 27 points (10 goals, seven assists) this season. Last year, the midfielder was a first-team selection as well as the conference’s Rookie of the Year. For Rutgers, this is the seventh first-team certificate for the program since RU joined the BIG EAST in 1995. In addition, Lloyd is the second player in RU history to earn multiple first-team awards during her career – Uchenna Bright was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team in 1996, 1998 and 1999.
Brandao has started every match for the Knights this season, serving as one of Rutgers’ most consistent defenders. She is the fifth Scarlet Knight to be named to the BIG EAST All-Rookie Team.
Rutgers (10-7-2) will take on No. 8 West Virginia (16-1-1) in the BIG EAST Tournament semifinals Friday, Nov. 8, at 7:00 p.m. in Storrs, CT.
