Rutgers Announces 2003 Football Signees

PISCATAWAY, NJ – Rutgers University football coach Greg Schiano announced the signing of 23 student athletes who will join the Scarlet Knights football program for the 2003 season.

"We have 23 guys with great character, who will lend a lot to not only this football team, but the University," Schiano said. "I think this recruiting class meets almost every one of our needs. I am very pleased with what we were able to accomplish."

The list of signees includes nine highly regarded performers from New Jersey. Also casting their lot with the Scarlet Knights will be seven players from Florida, two each from Pennsylvania and Connecticut. Rutgers also recruited one athlete from California and one from Minnesota.

"I like the balance of this class in all ways," Schiano said.
