PISCATAWAY, NJ - Rutgers women's lacrosse sophomore
Lyndsey Feldman (Ft. Myers, FL) and senior Melissa Mosey (Skaneateles, NY)
were named the BIG EAST's Players of the Week for Monday, April 14.
Feldman, the league's defensive player of the week, earned the award
for the second time this season after securing RU's 15-12 upset of No.
14 Yale on Wednesday, April 9, and the Scarlet Knight's first BIG EAST
win, a 9-6 decision against Connecticut on Saturday, April 12. Ranked third
in the nation for save percentage, she leads the BIG EAST in save percentage
(.605) and saves (124), while ranking second in the league and 13th nationally
for goals-against average (7.65) Feldman received her initial league honor
March 31 after holding No. 4 Georgetown to its lowest scoring output in over
three seasons. She is the second RU player to receive the award twice in the
same season, matching Lauren Gulotta (1999-2002) who did it twice in 2002.
Mosey was named the co-offensive player of the week, sharing the award with
Georgetown's Gloria Lozano. The honor is not only Mosey's first,
but marks the first time a Scarlet Knight has received the offensive player-of-the-week
award. Mosey led RU in both victories last week, scoring three goals in each
of RU's wins. She has posted hat tricks in each of RU's last three
games and leads the team with 19 goals this season.
Rutgers will return to action on Tuesday, April 15, hosting Manhattan at 3:30
p.m. on Yurcak Field.
