Avner, Lloyd Named to UK All-Tournament Team

PISCATAWAY, NJ – Rutgers sophomore Zoe Avner (Paris, France) and junior Carli Lloyd (Delran, NJ) were named to the Kentucky Invitational All-Tournament Team Sept. 12-13.
Avner, a midfielder, contributed an assist on the lone goal in Rutgers’ 2-1 loss to Iowa Sept. 12. Lloyd, also a midfielder, had a pair of goals during the tournament, including the game winner in RU’s 2-1 upset of No. 14 Kentucky Sept. 13.
Rutgers (4-2), under the direction of fourth-year head coach Glenn Crooks, will begin a four-match homestand on Friday, Sept. 19, when the Scarlet Knights host No. 7 Penn State at 7:00 p.m.
