Women's Volleyball Drops 3-1 Decision to Georgetown

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Rutgers volleyball team (15-10, 3-6 BIG EAST) won the first game, but eventually fell short 3-1 to BIG EAST opponent Georgetown (16-12, 3-6 BIG EAST) on Friday, Nov. 12. The match scores were 30-23, 24-30, 21-30 and 17-30.
Senior Stephanie Travioli (Arlington, TX) led RU with 11 kills, while senior Dawn Christjaener (Huntington Beach, CA) and junior Ashleigh Young (Albany, OR) recorded 10 kills apiece. On the defensive end, Travioli and sophomore Tamarie Macon (Fayetteville, NC) poured in nine digs to lead the team, followed by senior Casey Castillo (Honolulu, HI) with eight.
The Scarlet Knights will concluded the 2004 regular season on Sunday, Nov. 14, when they travel to Villanova, PA to take on the Villanova Wildcats at 2:00 p.m.
