Rutgers Volleyball Falls to Western Michigan at the Radisson Invitational

KALAMAZOO, MI – The Rutgers volleyball team (1-3) dropped its first match at the Radisson Invitational, losing to tournament hosts Western Michigan 30-16, 34-32, 30-17 on Sept. 10.
The Scarlet Knights were led by sophomore Lora Yankauskas (Paramus, NJ), who notched a team best 12 kills. It marked the fourth consecutive match in which Yankauskas has recorded double-digit kills. Senior Abbey Martin (Topeka, KS) added a team-high 26 assists, while senior Dawn Christjaener tallied a team-high five digs.
RU will return to action as it takes on Marquette at 12:00 p.m. and first-time opponent Maine at 4:30 p.m. on the final day of competition at the Radisson Invitational on Sept. 11.
