FAIRFAX, VA – The Rutgers volleyball team (7-3)
  extended their five-match winning streak, defeating Stony Brook 3-1 (18-30,
  30-22, 30-27, 30-25) in their first match at the Patriot Invitational on Friday,
  Sept. 24.
The Scarlet Knights bounced back after dropping the first game to the Seawolves
  (18-30), rallying behind the hot hands of sophomore Lora Yankauskas (Paramus,
  NJ) and senior Stephanie Travioli (Arlington, TX). Yankauskas recorded her
  first career double-double, tallying a match-high 14 kills and 10 digs, while
  Travioli added 11 kills and eight digs of her own. Senior Abbey Martin (Topeka,
  KS) notched nine kills and a team-high 31 assists. 
Rutgers was outstanding on the defensive end recording 14 team blocks. Martin
  registered a match-high six block assists, followed by Travioli and freshman
  Amanda Meyer (Naperville, IL) who tallied five block assists apiece. Senior
  Dawn Christjaener (Huntington Beach, CA) recorded a team-high 12 digs, while
  Martin completed her balanced attack with 10 digs of her own.
RU finishes play at the Patriot Invitational on Sept. 25, when it takes on
  Towson at 10:30 a.m. and tournament host George Mason at 7:30 p.m.
