PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Rutgers volleyball team
  (10-3) extended its win streak to nine matches, defeating Temple 3-2 (30-23,
  27-30, 29-31, 30-27, 15-8) on Tuesday, Sept. 28.
The Scarlet Knights were led by senior Stephanie Travioli (Arlington, TX),
  who is coming off an MVP performance at the Patriot Invitational in Fairfax,
  VA, on Sept. 24-25. Travioli led RU with a match-high 26 kills, shattering
  her previous career high mark of 18. Travioli also recorded seven digs and
  a .420 hitting percentage. Senior Dawn Christjaener (Huntington Beach, CA)
  and sophomore Lora Yankauskas (Paramus, NJ) both recorded double-doubles, with
  Christjaener posting 17 kills and 15 digs, while Yankauskas registered 16 kills
  and a career-high 15 digs. 
Rutgers also received strong defensive performances from junior Courtney Stout
  (San Marcos, CA) and senior Abbey Martin (Topeka, KS). Stout recorded a team-high
  16 digs, while Martin added eight. Martin also led RU with a match-high 59
  assists. 
“Following the Patriot Invitational and today’s match at Temple,
  Stephanie has really stepped her up game” said head coach Ann Leonard-House. “She
  had an outstanding offensive day and she is playing a really smart game. She
  does so much for this team, she is one of our primary passers and that’s
  something that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet.”
The Scarlet Knights return to action on Friday, Oct. 1, when they host the
  BIG EAST Challenge at the College Avenue Gymnasium. Connecticut will take on
  Villanova in the first match of the day at 4:00 p.m., followed by Rutgers and
  Boston College at 7:00 p.m.
