PISCATAWAY, NJ – Nora Crawford (McLean, VA) was named the BIG EAST Conference Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week, while Alicia Hall (Port Republic, NJ) was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Oct. 17.
Crawford, a redshirt junior, posted a pair of shutout victories last weekend in a pair of critical conference wins for the Scarlet Knights. Crawford made two saves in each of RU’s league wins, a 1-0 triumph against Syracuse Oct. 14 and a 3-0 victory against St. John’s Oct. 16.
Hall scored her first two career goals last weekend, the game winner in the 1-0 victory against Syracuse, and the second score in the 3-0 decision against St. John’s.
They join fellow Scarlet Knight Kristen Edmonds (Metuchen, NJ), who was named the Rookie of the Week Aug. 29 and earned a spot on the Honor Roll Oct. 3, as BIG EAST weekly honorees this season.
Rutgers (7-9-1, 3-6 BIG EAST), one point out of the fifth and final BIG EAST Tournament berth in Division B, will play its final two regular-season matches on the road this weekend. RU will play at Cincinnati Friday, Oct. 21, at 7:00 p.m. and Louisville Sunday, Oct. 23, at 1:00 p.m.
