Edmonds Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

PISCATAWAY, NJ - Kristen Edmonds (Metuchen, NJ) has been named to the BIG EAST Conference Women's Soccer Honor Roll, the league office announced Oct. 3.
Edmonds, a freshman midfielder/forward, had five points in three matches last week. She tallied a goal and an assist in Rutgers' 2-2 double-overtime tie against Monmouth Sept. 27, then tallied two assists in the Scarlet Knights' 6-2 victory at Pittsburgh Oct. 2.
Edmonds was named the BIG EAST Conference Rookie of the Week and earned a spot on the Soccer America Team of the Week Aug. 31 after she scored the game-winning goal in her collegiate debut, a 6-0 victory against Temple Aug. 26. Edmonds, who also notched two assists against the Owls, followed up that performance by scoring both goals in RU's 2-0 win against Fairleigh Dickinson Aug. 28. She currently leads the Scarlet Knights with 15 points (5 g, 5 a).
Rutgers (4-7-1, 1-4 BIG EAST) will host the defending national champion, Notre Dame, this Friday, Oct. 7, at 7:00 p.m.
