Women's Tennis Falls to Richmond, 6-1

PRINCETON, NJ – The Richmond Spiders won two of three doubles matches all five singles matches to claim a 6-1 victory over Rutgers (2-2) on Sunday at Princeton’s Jadwin Gymnasium.
Richmond won both doubles matches by identical 8-2 scores, and the Spiders defalted at third doubles put still claimed the team doubles point. In singles play, Lauren Edelschein (Medford Lakes, NJ) won the first set, but eventually fell to Megan Wolfgram, 3-6, 6-4, 10-7. Helen Magomedova (Brooklyn, NY) also won the first set at fifth singles. The Scarlet Knights earned their lone point when Alina Balasa (East Brunswick, NJ) won be default at sixth singles.
Rutgers returns to action on Friday, Feb. 18 when it opens its home schedule with a match against Temple. RU also hosts BIG EAST foe Syracuse on Sunday, Feb. 20.
