PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Rutgers University volleyball team (0-1) dropped a 3-2 (17-30, 31-29, 30-19, 28-30, 10-15) decision to Towson University on Friday evening at the Temple Invitational in Philadelphia, PA.
Senior Courtney Stout (San Marcos, CA) and junior Lora Yankauskas (Paramus, NJ) led the way for the Scarlet Knights, as they each recorded double-doubles. Stout poured in a match-high 20 kills and added 15 digs, while Yankauskas registered 15 kills and 11 digs. Guiding the offense was junior Jocelyn Greenwald (Old Tappan, NJ) with a team-high 44 assists.
Defensively, junior Justine Park (Reseda, CA) posted a team-high 16 digs, followed by freshman Kyra Thompson (Tucson, AZ) with 13.
The Scarlet Knights will conclude play at the Temple Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 27, when they face Lehigh at 10:00 a.m. and host Temple at 7:00 p.m.
