Rutgers Selected 15th In BIG EAST Volleyball Preseason Poll

PISCATAWAY, NJ – The Rutgers Scarlet Knights received 38 points and were selected 15th in the BIG EAST Volleyball Preseason Poll, the league announced.
Louisville was chosen to win the BIG EAST volleyball title with a conference-leading 12 first-place votes and a total of 194 points. Defending conference champion Notre Dame was picked second after garnering three first-place votes and 185 points, followed by Pittsburgh (165) in third, Cincinnati (153) in fourth and Marquette (144) in fifth.
The Scarlet Knights are coming off a 2004 campaign during which the team finished 16-10 overall, 4-6 in the conference and junior Lora Yankauskas (Paramus, NJ) was named an honorable mention All-BIG EAST selection.
Rutgers will open the 2005 season at the Temple Tournament in Philadelphia, PA, taking on host Temple, Lehigh and Towson on Friday, Aug. 26, through Saturday, Aug. 27.
