Yankauskas, Calder Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – Junior outside hitter Lora Yankauskas (Paramus, NJ) and freshman setter Roxy Calder (Oceanside, CA) were each selected to the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll, the league announced.
Yankauskas and Calder helped guide the Scarlet Knights to a 3-1 record this past weekend at the Rutgers Embassy Suites Classic. RU topped Temple 3-1 in its opening match on Friday, Sept. 16, and split a pair of matches on Saturday, Sept. 17, against UMBC (W, 3-0) and Fairfield (L, 1-3), before concluding play with a 3-0 win over Harvard on Sunday, Sept. 18.
Over the weekend, Yankauskas averaged a team-high 4.62 kills per game and added 2.62 digs and 1.12 blocks per game, while Calder powered the Scarlet Knight offense with an 11.43 assist per game average.
In addition, Yankauskas was named the tournament MVP for her performance.
Yankauskas is currently averaging a team-leading 4.08 kills per game and is tied for first with 16 service aces. She also ranks second with 2.77 digs per game, while Calder leads Rutgers with 9.66 assists per game.
The Scarlet Knights will return to action this weekend, as they open their BIG EAST season at West Virginia on Friday, Sept. 23, at 7:00 p.m. and Pittsburgh on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 2:00 p.m.
