Palmentieri Leads RU Men to Sixth Place at Lafayette Invite

EASTON Pa. -The Rutgers men's cross country team took sixth at the Lafayette Invitational on Oct. 14.
Penn won the men's race with 69 team points, while Columbia was second with 150 points. Stony Brook University finished third in the race with 158 team points. Rutgers finished with 329 team points.
Alex Palmentieri (Northfield, N.J.) led the Scarlet Knights with a 14th-place finish in a time of 25:59.50 on the 8K course. Bill Hulbert (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) also finished in the top 30, taking 26th overall in a time of 26:35.80.
Milo Schwab (Highland Park, N.J.) finished 45th for Rutgers in a time of 27:14.00, while Brett Salmon (Sewell, N.J.) took 56th in 27:24.50. Rounding out the scoring for the Scarlet Knights was Simon Gordonov (Hightstown, N.J.) in 68th, with a time of 27:38.30.
Also competing for Rutgers was Jayram Sataluri (Holmdel, N.J.) who finished 73rd in a time of 27:47.50, while Andrew Morris (Sewell, N.J.) and Mike Krum finished 85th and 88th, respectively, with times of 28:09.20 and 28:12.20.
Rutgers will be idle until Friday, Oct. 27, when the Scarlet Knights travel to Boston, Mass. for the BIG EAST Championships. Race time for the men is set for 11:50 a.m.
