Men’s squad places seventh overall to record best team finish
Bethlehem, Pa. – Rutgers cross country posted a top-10 team finish on the men's side, led by Micah Lawson who placed 20th overall, at the 2025 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on Friday in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The Scarlet Knights placed seventh in the team standings, the first top-10 team finish for the men in nearly a decade when the team placed 10th overall in 2016.
"Both squads competed very well today and exceeded their rankings coming into the meet," said Associate Head Coach Nicol Starkes. "We had our highest regional finish ever on the men's side and Micah became our first All-Regional selection for the men since 2018. This season has marked a new era for distance running at Rutgers."
Lawson ran a time of 30:19.5 to finish 20th in the 200-plus person field. He earned Mid-Atlantic All-Region honors, becoming the first Scarlet Knight to do so on the men's side since Conor Murphy in 2018.
