Yankauskas Garners Selection to the BIG EAST Honor Roll

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - Rutgers volleyball senior outside hitter Lora Yankauskas (Paramus, N.J.) was named to the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll, the league announced.
Yankauskas helped guide Rutgers (5-9, 2-2 BIG EAST) to a 1-1 record last weekend against BIG EAST opponents Pittsburgh on Sept. 30 and West Virginia on Oct.1.The Scarlet Knights fell to the Panthers 0-3 on Saturday morning, but bounced back on Sunday defeating the Mountaineer 3-0, for their first sweep of the season.
Despite losing to Pittsburgh, Rutgers celebrated an outstanding achievement in Yankauskas' career as she eclipsed the 1,000-kill mark against the Panthers. She is currently seventh on the school's all-time list with 1,033 career kills. Over the weekend, Yankauskas averaged 6.67 kills and 4.00 digs per game to lead the Scarlet Knights.
Rutgers will venture on a five-opponent road trip, beginning at 2005 NCAA regional semifinalist and Co-BIG EAST Champion Louisville on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 2:00 p.m.
