RU Volleyball Drops Regular-Season Home Finale to Seton Hall

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - The Rutgers volleyball team (5-18, 2-10 BIG EAST) was swept 3-0 (21-30, 14-30, 19-30) in its final home match of the regular season against in-state and BIG EAST foe Seton Hall (15-13, 4-8 BIG EAST) on Sunday afternoon at the College Avenue Gym.
Prior to the match, the Rutgers volleyball program took the opportunity to honor its three graduating seniors - Jocelyn Greenwald (Old Tappan N.J.), Tamarie Macon (Fayetteville, N.C.) and Lora Yankauskas (Paramus, N.J.).
As part of the ceremony, RU paid tribute to the achievements of the three student-athletes. Yankauskas, who did not see action in the match due to an injury, was also recognized for her ascent among Rutgers' past greats as she claimed sixth place on the school's all-time list in both kills (1,103) and total attempts ( 2,866).
Freshman Stephanie Moore (Dallas, Texas) led the Scarlet Knights with seven kills, followed by junior Amanda Meyer (Naperville, Ill.) with six and Macon with five. Moore also recorded two block assists and two solo blocks. Sophomore Roxy Calder (Oceanside, Calif.) had a team-high 17 assists to go along with five defensive digs.
Freshman Brittani Rendina (Lisle, Ill.) tied Calder and Macon for the team high in digs (five), while freshman Sophie Moore (Colorado Springs, Colo.) posted four block assists to help bolster the Scarlet Knights' defense.
Rutgers will conclude the regular season with a pair of road matches against St. John's on Saturday, Nov. 11 and Connecticut on Sunday, Nov. 12.
