BIG EAST Announces Women's Basketball Home/Away Opponents

PISCATAWAY, NJ – The BIG EAST Conference has announced the home and away opponents for the 2006-2007 women’s basketball regular season.
Rutgers will play Connecticut twice (once at home, once on the road). RU also will play each of the remaining 14 league members once, seven on the road and seven at the Louis Brown Athletic Center, for a total of 16 conference contests.
The Scarlet Knights will face Cincinnati, Connecticut, Georgetown, Marquette, Pittsburgh, Providence, South Florida and West Virginia in Piscataway. RU will take on UConn, DePaul, Louisville, Notre Dame, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Syracuse and Villanova on the road.
Rutgers has won the last two BIG EAST regular-season titles, including a perfect 16-0 league slate last season. No. 9/9 Rutgers posted a 27-5 overall record during the 2005-2006 campaign, advancing to the regional semifinals of the 2006 NCAA Tournament.
